To whom do you attribute your success? Why?

As a gift I received these little cards CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE MOTHER'S SOUL™ that are conversation starts to "Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit". I love these stories and wanted to share them with you and get your thoughts as well.

"When Meegan lost her first tooth, she left it for the Tooth Fairy along with a note asking for a job. The Tooth Fairy (Meegan's parents) relayed that she was too young, but that if she worked hard, the Tooth Fairy would consider her for a job later. Meegan followed those instructions, graduated college with honors and got a top management job. To whom did she attribute her success? Her parents - and the Tooth Fairy!"

You don't have to take our word for it

Here is a testimonial from Jaclyn Thomas England mother of three little girls.

We recently received our first bottle of Little Stinker Butt Spray as a gift for our new baby.

As a mother of three young girls we know a lot about stinky bums. I have been using it on the baby during diaper changes and it has added a breath of fresh air to a very dirty job. Her bottom is soft, smooth, rash free and better smelling than ever.

The product smells so great I will occasionally give the room and trash can an extra spray to make it smell fresher. I was recently talking to a neighbor about her baby's diaper rash and couldn't stop talking about Little Stinker.

This is definitely a must have product for every diaper changing home. We love this product and are looking forward to other great products to come from the Little Stinker brand.

Sci-Fri Marinade a' la Poop

Diaper Rash Prevention Made Simple

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine marinating your hand in a soiled toilet for several minutes every day. Sounds disgusting… right? No one in their right mind would want to expose their skin to such nasties. Nevertheless, your baby’s cute little tush is stewing in its own juices (so to speak) on a regular basis. No wonder their delicate skin is prone to irritation!

All joking aside, it is important to follow these simple steps to help prevent your baby from developing a painful diaper rash:

  1. Change soiled diapers quickly. Depending on your baby’s system and liquid intake, you may have to change their diaper more frequently as well.

  2. Clean the area thoroughly with each diaper change to remove all traces of urine or stool. If the diaper is only wet, patting the skin clean works well to prevent skin irritation and avoid diaper rash.

  3. Try out different brands of diapers and wipes. Some children may be sensitive to certain products. If you notice that your child is getting frequent diaper rashes, try mixing it up a bit.

  4. Incorporate diaper changes in your baby’s daily routine. For example, change their diaper when they wake up or right before nap time.

  5. Gently moisturize with naturally soothing ingredients, such as chamomile, to keep their delicate skin replenished.

  6. When necessary, use a diaper rash cream - as recommended by your pediatrician or pharmacist.

If you notice a rash that is very red, raw or sore looking or if you notice blisters, pus or crusty patches, it is best to visit your pediatrician. Hope that helps!

What to do with the kids?

As a new mom, I found it hard to find activities for my son that were educational and consistent. I left my full time job in June of 2009 and was starting to go a little stir crazy being in the house all Winter.

This past January we joined Kindermusik and love it.

We are in the "Our Time" class for the 18 mo. old to 3 1/2. These classes are a "mommy and me" class but we've had a few dads and grandparents join, too. Here is an example of what our day looks like:

The first day we got this great little box of goodies with a DVD and book. All the kids were a little shy at first but they have all grown so much since then. This semester is all about "Things that Go" which my son loves. Each class is different and we sing and play with instruments. What I've really gotten out of it are activities that I can do at home with my son.

A typical day includes free reading store time. Then we sing a welcome song. Class involves lots of dancing and it took me a few weeks to feel comfortable running around the room saying, "Choo Choo" with the other parents, but love it.

Ms. Carol has won multiple awards for her Kindermusik school. We'd love to have you join us!

Sci-Fri - You put Marshmallows in your butt spray?

Welcome to Science Friday, where we take a moment to discuss and explain some of the science behind our product formulas. We believe in blending science with natural and organic botanical ingredients to create unique, essential, safe, and effective cosmetic products, which can be applied with confidence to maintain the health and beauty of skin.

Today, we wanted to discuss the Marshmallow in our Little Stinker Baby Butt Spay. If you look closely at the ingredient list for Baby Butt Spray, you may notice the name “Althaea officinalis” which is also known by its official common name “Marshmallow” root. This herb should not be confused with the sugary treat commonly roasted over campfires to make yummy s’mores (great... now I want s'mores). However, the French did use this herb historically in their confection “pate de guimave”, which was made from the plant’s root. And very tasty.

The marshmallow plant has been used traditionally in many cultures for its medicinal properties and even as food. The generic name, Althaea, is derived from the Greek, altho (to cure), from its healing properties. Hippocrates described this herb as a valuable treatment of wounds. Medicinally, the dried or powdered roots have been historically applied as a poultice on skin abrasions, ulcers, and eruptions.

The inclusion of this extracted herb in Little Stinker™ Baby Butt Spray was not accidental. Baby Butt Spray’s unique blend of botanical extracts provides soothing, calming, and moisturizing properties to your baby’s delicate skin. Sure, your main purpose for using this product may be to de-stinkify lingering baby odors, but the secondary benefits to your child’s skin make Baby Butt Spray much more than “butt-deodorant”.

Fun Feedback on Facebook

Since our launch last week we've had fun reading some of the posts and thought we'd share our favorites:

Donalee Davis Walker Donalee
No freaking way!!!! Abecie's diapers are the WORST and I have that same thought every time I walk into the room where her diaper was just changed. That is AMAZING!!!! I WANT SOME!!! And I totally love the name! haha

Martha Yorgason GraceMartha
That's awesome! My husband a few months back was wishing we could come up with a diaper with a better smell to disguise those 'just changed but not sure if I need to again' smells. What a fantastic idea Brick had. Thanks for sharing!

Another great use for the spray? The seat in spinning class. Or basically, anywhere in the gym.

Thanks everyone for your support!
